A creative guessing game that challenges players to act out words based on rhyming clues. Great for sparking laughter and testing creativity.

This is a refreshed adaptation from the All Eyes on Me retro party-game collection.

At a glance

Players: 4+ players.
You will need: A list of simple rhyming words.
Cost: Free instructions; use items you already have. Optional props or prizes may cost extra.

How to play

  1. Split into two teams. One team secretly chooses an action word, such as ‘hop’.
  2. Give the other team a rhyming clue, such as ‘shop’, without revealing the action.
  3. The guessing team silently acts out possible action words that rhyme with the clue.
  4. The choosing team claps when the correct action is performed. If a guess is wrong, invite another attempt.
  5. Swap roles after one minute or a correct guess. Score one point per solved rhyme.

Host’s tip

Use clear pairs such as clap/snap or hop/shop. Explain that the answer is an action, not the clue word.

Agree on the rules before you start. Guests can join, adapt a movement or pass; use points or optional playful challenges wherever the retro rules mention forfeits.

Originally listed as “Dumb Acting Rhymes”; refreshed here as Silent Acting Rhymes.
