A theatrical prediction game with an old-fashioned title, refreshed as imaginative party storytelling. The title belongs to the retro collection; the game is not a guide to Egyptian beliefs or traditions.

From the All Eyes on Me retro party-game collection, this old-fashioned favourite brings simple fun to a modern gathering.

At a glance

Players: 3+ players.
You will need: Paper, a pen and prepared playful predictions.
Cost: Free instructions; use items you already have. Optional props or prizes may cost extra.

How to play

  1. Prepare a stack of playful predictions, such as ‘A surprising invitation is on its way’ or ‘You will discover a new favourite song’.
  2. Choose a host to play the Oracle. Keep the room comfortably lit.
  3. Guests ask an imaginary or lighthearted question and draw a prediction.
  4. The Oracle reads it in a dramatic voice and improvises a cheerful story around it.
  5. Rotate hosts so guests can take a turn at performing.

Host’s tip

Treat every prediction as fiction. Homemade cards replace the unspecified letter-board mechanism in the supplied version.

Agree on the rules before you start. Guests can join, adapt a movement or pass; use points or optional playful challenges wherever the retro rules mention forfeits.
