A creative guessing game that challenges players to act out words based on rhyming clues. Great for sparking laughter and testing creativity.
This is a refreshed adaptation from the All Eyes on Me retro party-game collection.
At a glance
Players: 4+ players.
You will need: A list of simple rhyming words.
Cost: Free instructions; use items you already have. Optional props or prizes may cost extra.
How to play
- Split into two teams. One team secretly chooses an action word, such as ‘hop’.
- Give the other team a rhyming clue, such as ‘shop’, without revealing the action.
- The guessing team silently acts out possible action words that rhyme with the clue.
- The choosing team claps when the correct action is performed. If a guess is wrong, invite another attempt.
- Swap roles after one minute or a correct guess. Score one point per solved rhyme.
Host’s tip
Use clear pairs such as clap/snap or hop/shop. Explain that the answer is an action, not the clue word.
Agree on the rules before you start. Guests can join, adapt a movement or pass; use points or optional playful challenges wherever the retro rules mention forfeits.
Originally listed as “Dumb Acting Rhymes”; refreshed here as Silent Acting Rhymes.
