Create a comfortable autumn or fall wedding with thoughtful layers, daylight planning, sheltered spaces and accessories that suit your chosen palette.
Australia: March–May. United States: September–November. These conventional seasonal months are a starting point. Local climate, altitude and the destination matter more than an assumed seasonal look.
Check sunset for your actual date and location before finalising the ceremony and photography schedule. Ask the photographer how much usable light they want for portraits, group photographs and travel between locations.
Discuss how the venue will feel after dark. A pleasant outdoor afternoon can lead to a cooler evening, so plan layers, heating where appropriate and a comfortable indoor option.
Amber, burgundy, olive, cream and warm metallic details can suit an autumn palette, but you do not need to build the wedding around seasonal leaves. Soft pink, blue, black or a bright personal colour can work just as well.
Use one or two accessories to carry a colour through an outfit. A wrist garter, statement ring or hair detail can echo a palette without requiring every attendant to wear identical pieces. Compare undertones in daylight before placing group orders.
Ask about covered entrances, walkways, coat storage and heating. Check whether fallen leaves, wet grass or gravel affect shoes and mobility aids. Include useful venue information with the invitation.
Look at local holidays and major events when arranging accommodation. In the US, a fall date may overlap hurricane season in some destinations, while Australia’s autumn conditions differ considerably by region. Check the local climate and official information.

Australian Bureau of Meteorology and US National Weather Service provide local weather information and warnings. These are practical planning suggestions from All Eyes on Me; check the climate and conditions for your destination.
