At a glance

Players: 4+ players.
You will need: An optional blindfold and a clear playing area.
Cost: Free instructions; use items you already have. Optional props or prizes may cost extra.

How to play

  1. Choose a listener and sit them in the centre of a circle of seated guests.
  2. The listener closes their eyes or uses an optional blindfold. Everyone else remains in their seat.
  3. The host quietly selects a guest to say a short phrase or make an animal sound.
  4. The listener guesses the speaker. If correct, they swap roles.
  5. Repeat until everyone who wants a turn has played.

Host’s tip

This seated adaptation of Blind Man’s Buff replaces chasing and identifying people by touch with listening.

Agree on the rules before you start. Guests can join, adapt a movement or pass; use points or optional playful challenges wherever the retro rules mention forfeits.
