Energetic and engaging games perfect for breaking the ice and creating memorable moments at teenage gatherings.

From the All Eyes on Me retro party-game collection, this old-fashioned favourite brings simple fun to a modern gathering.

At a glance

Players: 6+ players.
You will need: Paper, pens and lightweight relay props.
Cost: Free instructions; use items you already have. Optional props or prizes may cost extra.

How to play

  1. Start with Who Am I? Put a familiar character name on each player’s back. They ask yes/no questions to work out their identity.
  2. Try News Relay: one teammate reads a short passage while another writes it down. Compare the original and copy for accuracy.
  3. Play Animal Pairs: hand out matching animal-name cards. Guests use sounds or gestures to find their partner.
  4. Use a Guided Route: one teammate gives spoken directions through a simple course while their partner walks with eyes open.
  5. Finish with a Paper Fan Relay: use folded newspaper to waft a tissue-paper ball towards a finish line.
  6. Rotate teams and mix noisy, active rounds with quieter guessing games.

Host’s tip

Let guests choose sound or gesture cues. The original blindfold obstacle race is updated to an eyes-open route.

Agree on the rules before you start. Guests can join, adapt a movement or pass; use points or optional playful challenges wherever the retro rules mention forfeits.
